Augsburg/Germany, September 2026 – Distributor Ultrapolymers has expanded its portfolio of engineering plastics to include PANLITE® polycarbonate (PC) grades from the Japanese manufacturer Teijin. The agreement covers most of the European market and includes the full range of specialist and standard polycarbonate grades, as well as PC compounds. In addition to distribution, Ultrapolymers will provide technical application support, warehousing and logistics services through its regional locations. Engineering plastics including PC will be a key focus of Ultrapolymers' presence at Fakuma, which is taking place from 12 to 16 October 2026 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Teijin was the first manufacturer in Asia to produce polycarbonate, starting in 1960. Today, PANLITE products are recognised as being among the highest quality and purest PC grades available on the market. They offer exceptional transparency and optical performance, as well as a crystal-clear edge tint, and maintain consistent high quality. Teijin's leading position in the global ophthalmic lens manufacturing industry further supports these claims. Thanks to tight product specifications, PANLITE PC grades also offer excellent processability in injection moulding, extrusion, and compounding.

PANLITE grades are used not only in optical applications such as lenses, but also in lighting, safety and protection, heating and air conditioning, packaging, and electrical and electronic housings. The portfolio ranges from very low to medium viscosity grades.

The range also includes UV-stabilised grades that comply with flammability class V2 according to UL 94. The majority of these meet the stringent requirements of UL 746C-F1 regarding the safety and weather resistance of plastics in electrical appliances, as well as those of AMECA for automotive components and safety equipment. The L-1250VX grade features a UV barrier at 400 nm, the L-1225 Z/100M grade is characterised by good impact strength, and the L-1225 ZL/100 grade, thanks to its very high flowability, enables the production of thin-walled parts with long flow paths. The L-1225WX powder grade, with its low viscosity and excellent dispersibility, is specifically tailored to the requirements of masterbatch production and compounding.

According to Joshua Heck, European Product Manager at Ultrapolymers: “We are proud to take on the distribution of these unique PANLITE products from Teijin across Europe. Thanks to their outstanding transparency, consistent batch-to-batch quality and excellent processing performance, they are the clear choice for demanding polycarbonate applications.”

PANLITE® is a trademark of Teijin Ltd.
