Buehler Webinar: Metallography of Fasteners

Esslingen/Germany, May 2020 – On May 27, 2020 Buehler, an ITW company, offers a webinar covering metallographic preparation, analysis and hardness testing of fasteners for demanding industries including aerospace and automotive. The webinar will be held in English. Starting time is 11:00 a.m. CEST / 10:00 a.m. BST. 

The webinar will explore metallurgical investigation of fastener components and related materials by highlighting preparation guidelines for the stages of fastener production process. The aim is to show the best practices to adopt, whilst following strict ASTM and/or ISO standards for fastener evaluation due to their safety critical use in aerospace, automotive, and other related industries. In this webinar, the topics covered will include:

•    Metallographic preparation challenges and the requirements for routine or detailed evaluation 
•    Decarburization assessment 
•    Hardness conformity checks 
•    Defects assessments 
•    Microstructural evaluation 
•    Rivet metallography
